Antonio C. Castro is chair of the Complex Commercial Litigation group and concentrates his practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation and arbitration and appeals.With more than 20 years of experience as a commercial and business litigator, Tony has represented multinational corporations, individuals and local companies in commercial disputes, including breach of contract, enforcement of non-compete, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements, business dissolutions, partnership disputes, contract litigation and business torts, including interference with business relationships.He has notably tried more than 40 jury cases as a prosecutor and brings that depth of courtroom experience to his client representations.

Tony began his career as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, where he spent years in the front lines of litigation investigating crimes, interviewing and preparing witnesses, selecting juries, examining and cross-examining witnesses, delivering effective opening and closing statements, and prosecuting cases to the full extent of the law.Because of his ability and experience, he was selected to teach litigation skills to junior prosecutors.

Following his government service, Tony entered private practice in 1996 and later joined a national litigation firm representing major companies in defending mass tort and class action litigation.As litigation counsel to these companies, Tony represented clients on early case resolution and damage management issues, witness interviews and fact development, and trial team and expert selection.He planned and participated in the pretrial preparation of complex and high-value trials, including mock jury selection and jury trials with national experts.

Fluent in Spanish, Tony has handled litigation matters involving various foreign jurisdictions in Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean, and has litigated numerous matters relating to forum non conveniens.

Daniel Zumpano is a manager partner of the firm, a leader in our Litigation Department and Family Law practice.A Harvard University graduate, Daniel received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami in 2004.He is a member of the Cuban American Bar Association and American Bar Association.

During the course of his legal career, Rick has represented clients in a wide-variety of complex commercial and general business disputes, including, partnership and shareholder disputes, shareholder derivative actions, business torts and contractual disputes.Rick has also litigated multi-jurisdictional disputes for clients with interests in Latin America, including Venezuela, Costa Rica, Argentina, among others and has argued forum non conveniens issues before the Court.

Sidney Needelman joined the firm in 2015, bringing both his enthusiasm and years of experience to the firm’s Insurance Litigation Division.Sidney has a proven track record of counseling clients and litigating matters for national and local Insurance carriers throughout the state of Florida, with particular emphasis on matters involving first party claims.

Sidney has successfully defended admitted carriers and insureds, as well as surplus insurance providers, and semi-governmental entities providing coverage. He has a history of working with his clients - including uncovering fraud when present – and is committed to achieving fair and efficient resolutions on heavily disputed matters. Sidney’s attention to detail and focus on client concerns is unwavering.

Sidney has also worked with special investigation units, has been retained for special projects including analysis of potential new wording for policy provisions, and has provided coverage opinions to clients. His experience extends from pre-litigation to the courtroom. Prior to joining Zumpano Castro, Sidney was an associate at the international firm of Hinshaw and Culbertson LLP, and has worked in smaller Florida-based firms as well, for a broad background of experience in serving insurance litigation clients.

During law school, Sidney was a legal intern in the Economic Crime Unit of the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office and as a H.O.P.E. (Helping Others through Pro-Bono Efforts) Fellow. To gain experience and give back to the community, Sidney spent time during law school as a legal intern with the Dade County Bar Association and 11th Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Project, “Put Something Back” in 2005. Rafael Diaz is Partner and a member of Zumpano Castro’s trial team and his practice includes first and third party insurance defense, fraud and special investigations (SIU), commercial disputes, contractual interpretation, and breach of contract actions.Rafael has substantial trial, court room, deposition, and alternative dispute resolution experience including mediation and arbitration. Prior to joining Zumpano Castro, Rafael had several years of experience in the fields of first and third party homeowner’s insurance, first and third party automobile insurance actions, complex commercial foreclosures working in conjunction with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), residential foreclosure, condominium and homeowner association, consumer rights, products liability, wrongful death defense, dram shop law, and international arbitration.

Rafael graduated cum laude from The Florida State University College of Law during which time he interned with the Broward County Public Defender’s office and Leon County Public Defender’s office. Rafael is currently a board member for the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and a member of various other local bar and community associations as part of his goal to assist the local minority community and expand the Firms diverse practice.

As a child growing up in the booming city of Miami, Kevin L. Deeb spent many hours playing and exploring on his father’s construction sites. These early experiences are the genesis to his deep and genuine love for real estate and everything about it.His passion for development, finance, transactions and the business behind it all has attributed to him becoming a trusted advisor to some of the most successful developers and investors in Florida.As a real estate transactional and litigation attorney at the Zumpano Castro, Kevin is able to provide effective legal counseling and services to many individuals and corporations doing business and buying and selling both real estate and corporations throughout the State of Florida. As Chair of the Real Estate Division at the law firm of Zumpano Castro, in addition to Commercial and Residential Real Estate transactions, he has further developed his practice to include, Corporate Transactions and Governance, Land Use and Development, Estate Planning, and Condominium and Homeowner’s Association disputes and arbitration.

Kevin has been a title agent for The Fund (Old Republic National Title Insurance Company) since 1999 and holds a Florida Real Estate Sales License and is a registered Real Estate Appraiser. A current member of the Florida Bar's Real Property, Probate & Trust Section, he has also serves on the Miami-Dade County's Unsafe Structures Board and City of Miami's Low Income Housing & Finance Committee for close to 20 years. He proudly served as President of the South Miami Kendall Bar Association and as a member of its Board of Directors for a decade. His memberships have included the American Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association, Coral Gables Bar Association and Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. Kevin was a panel member of the Florida Lawyer’s Legal Insurance Corporation.In 2004, Kevin was appointed as Chairman of the Realtor’s Association of Greater Miami Political Action Committee (RPAC). Michelle M. While in law school, her scholastic achievement was exceptional and she was a constant on the Dean’s list. Amanda earned her Juris Doctor from University of Miami School of Law. During law school, Amanda was a legal intern for the Children and Youth Law Clinic at the University of Miami where she handled matters related to dependency, guardianship and family law issues and advocated on behalf of underprivileged youth.

During her undergraduate studies at Florida International University, Amanda was on the Dean’s List, as well as part of several honor societies, including; Sigma Alpha Lambda, Pi Sigma Alpha, and Alpha Phi Sigma. Amanda was also actively involved in Phi Alpha Delta and Student Government Association. Apart from her passion for law, Amanda has an entrepreneurial background; she ran a successful Youth Cheerleading business for several years while simultaneously undergoing her studies.
